Dharma Day 2024
Saturday 20 July 2024 10am – 2pm
Dharma Day is a day to celebrate the Buddha Dharma; his whole body of teachings that together go to make a path that leads to ultimate freedom. Now 2,500 years old, the Dharma is still alive and well, practiced by millions, and very much a cause for good in the world today.
At the Newcastle centre we will mark the day with three of our sangha members, Rich, Gordon and Hope, having their mitra ceremonies, where they will publicly go for refuge to the three jewels and become a friend of the whole Triratna Buddhist Order worldwide. Please bring gifts and cards to make them feel loved, but most of all please just bring yourselves so that their deepening of commitment can be witnessed.
There will also be a talk, a full moon puja, and shared food. Please also feel free to bring a loved Dharma book to place on the shrine.
