We Run on Generosity
Newcastle Buddhist Centre tries as far as possible to operate on the basis of dana. Dana is a Pali word meaning generosity and it is seen as of fundamental importance in Buddhism.
We aim to run the Centre on the basis of the generosity of those who attend our courses and classes, without set charges for events. The only exception is weekend retreats, as we need to ensure that the costs of the event are met.
We are a not-for-profit organisation and our aim is to make the Buddha’s teaching available to anyone who wishes to access it – yet we are reliant on a certain income to make resources available.
If you feel that you’ve gained something of value from coming to the centre, and would like to help share that with other people, please consider making a donation or setting up a regular standing order to help us continue the work.
